My Friday the 13
th is different than what is usually expected on this superstitious day. We got some really good news today!! I took Natalie to a new dermatologist who was highly recommended and as soon as he saw her leg he said "that is not
vasculitis!" He said the biopsy was wrong; v
asculitis would attack all at once and not spread slow like it has and would be caused by something serious that would show up in the blood tests, but since her blood tests were all perfect and showed nothing wrong, it is not vasculitis. He said she has
Folliculitis with post-
inflamatory hyperpigmentation. In human language that means she got an infection in one of her hair follicles on her leg and kept spreading it through shaving her legs. He prescribed some antibiotics and told her not to "tan" so that the spots can clear up. Well, I could be angry that we went through all these tests and spent a lot of time and money on doctor visits only to find out it could have been cleared up with antibiotics, but I decided to feel grateful that it is not a disease that we can't treat or worse. I'm feeling pretty lucky today! :)
